We had a bad flea infestation when we first got Bailey. We had lots of grass and dirt. We tried oral meds, flea baths and grass spray. The only medication that worked was Prescription Nexguard. We give it in the summer months mostly but not while the dogs are breeding or nursing. They can start it after going home. It is weight based. Lots of meds come in combos with heart worm and other treatments
We were given Trifexis from our vet. It's an edible tablet and treats fleas, ticks, heartworms (and I believe some other parasites).
